Abode Area Guide – L10, Fazakerley and Aintree Village

May 05th 2016

We’re heading to the L10 postcode this month, an area in North Liverpool and home to Aintree Village and Fazakerley.

Aintree is best known as the site of the world famous Grand National horse race – an annual event which attracts thousand of visitors the city each year. But it is also a fantastic area to live, full of families and professionals, and close to local amenities.

Aintree village boasts two primary schools, a handful of traditional pubs and a large retail park, which features a few brands that have previously been unavailable in Merseyside.

The Leeds and Liverpool canal also runs through the village, passing close by to racecourse and is a great place for an afternoon walk. Liverpool city centre is just 6 miles away, which is perfect if you need to be near the town centre but would like more of a village feel.

Aintree is served by its own railway station and has great links to major motorways, as well as into Liverpool city centre.

Fazakerley is located between Aintree and Walton, and although smaller than its neighbouring areas, it does have its own train station. The area flourished in the period between the two world wars when many moved out of Liverpool city centre; now Fazakerley is a bustling area and a great place to consider buying or renting in Merseyside.
